She opened her legs!
It's a girl!! What an exciting day!
We went to Stork Vision and it was one of my most amazing experiences. I was bummed that Paul had to work, but my dear good friend Taylor made it special for me and him.
We got to the place and got a 2d and 3d ultrasound. Such a cute place! It was like a baby spa place. I was in love. The tech did the prep and here we go...30 minutes of pure sweetness. I got to see my little peanut in action. I have to confess, I sipped on a little mountain dew before I went and boy did she boogie for us.
I teared. Taylor was amazed and best of all, I got 60 photos of my baby plus a DVD of the whole ultrasound to watch with Paul. On our way back, we surprised paul with balloons in our trunk to reveal the gender. Of course he was like I KNEW IT!!! He was all cheese all day. After work, we had a celebration dinner with my aunt and uncle, who are my godparents. My dad was in California, but we will def celebrate when he gets back. He called me today telling me he got the baby 2 ao dais lol!!
Sooooooo blessed. The lady told us she was perfect and looked amazing. I have to thank God and my mom who is watching over me. I'm so in love and now happy tears fall.
So... I can wait to hold you baby girl. Ava Hope Nguyen. I love you even more and daddy is so excited. He's already training Bentley to protect you.
Xoxo

It's a......
It!!!
We got our first ultrasound today. Tears ran down my face, Paul so amazed and smiled the whole time. The baby was sitting on its bottom. Waving and stretching its legs. It is pretty amazing how the baby looks. Heartbeat was measured at 148. The tech told us that I'm averaged at 16 weeks and 4 days. So that's a week behind. We shall see!
I was kind of sad we couldn't see the gender so my husband called all the baby boutique clinics to see if they could get me in. "Becoming mom" said they could get me in at 830pm. I was so excited! So we cheered to a big feast at First Watch with blueberry pancakes and Belgian waffles.
Later, got a call and the tech canceled because of illness. Bummed again! I totally think this wasn't meant to be. So I've come to terms... It's a surprise! And now that it's neutral.. Elephants are out and lambs are in. I think... Well for now. I might change my mind haha!
So.. Here is our little peanut.

sweet sweet potato...yes you are
Well 17 weeks is almost over. Tomorrow we get to go to the doctors and get our first ultrasound. It's been a long awaiting moment! We finally get to see the baby and I cannot wait. Baby peanut is the size of a sweet potato today. I love sweet potato.
We went to trader joe's today and I held one next to my belly. I smiled and this man stared at me like "she's crazy." haha Got some new goodies to try. Lately my taste buds have been soooooo different. Things that Paul loves to eat, I do too! More flavors, seasoning, sweet! I use to be a plain jane kind of girl with my food, but now I'm all about the flavors. Fruits are my favorite. Mangos, peaches, longans, and strawberries yum!!
Today we went shopping. I have to say, by 10 minutes, I didn't wanna shop anymore. Paul, being the great daddy, kept me going. He kept saying cardio for the baby lol. It didn't help I had a huge lunch and all I wanted was a nap. Haha.
We ventured out and looked for bedding for the crib. Oh! Our crib arrived! Paul assembled it last night. Went to pottery barn kids and found the cutest elephant bedding! I love elephants. We saw other animals and got so confused but I'm kinda attached to the elephant. Think we might stick to it. Just waiting for the gender.
So... Question is.. Will you be a girl or boy??? I can't wait!

Baby flutter
Baby...
Today you stole my heart. You fluttered today!! At 824pm, you gave me comfort. After a long hard day at work, you have me a sign that I can't give up. I was extremely tired, but now knowing and you reminding me you're with me, I am wide awake and super excited.
Thank you for making me smile and giggle. Thank you for letting me freak your dad out while driving home haha.
We love you. Now can you just nudge a little harder soon so daddy can feel your love too??
Love you bunches.. Xoxo

Sweet 16...guess who decided to say hello?
16 week belly! |
Baby, you're a turnip! My 16 weeks has been AMAZING! You decided to pop out and tell the world you're arriving! It's been so much fun and tons of giggles when I see you in the mirror. Daddy has definitely fallen in love with you. It's becoming more real as each day goes by. We are so excited.
This week, Daddy and I had our parenting class. We had to do homework, and of course daddy waits till the last minute to answer his questions. Caught him reading, but at the same time snoozing off. haha. After work on Saturday, we went baby shopping/researching again. There's so much to decide. The whole time roaming, daddy would go to all the toy sections and register all your toys. Any toy with sound, lights, movement...ZAP! He was like a little kid all over again. Very cute. Still not done and won't finish till after we find out your gender...April 23!! Pray we get to see who you really are =)
Daddy shopping and reading |
At last, Sunday fun day! Our friends has a crawfish boil at Neons. It was so much fun. Since the baby, I've been in hibernation, and well I was ready to mingle more. It was definitely exciting to see all my close and childhood friends. Some for over 25 years! Good memories. Got to see Miss Linda Bui aka Auntie Booey. She is one of my friends for over 20 years now, was in our wedding, and now my baby ring master! People claim that she does wonder with the ring on the string thing. So far her predictions have been pretty accurate. I was waiting forever to see her and now I did! So while everyone was chomping on crawfish, we took a piece of my hair and tied my wedding band, and began her magic!! dun dun dun...result: boy first child, girl second child. Will this be true?? OH! I can't wait to find out!

Then onto the prego-mania. Sooo many people pregnant this year. It's like a big dragon boom. Both Rissa and I are finally showing and here's a photo of our oh so fab bellies =) It's never complete until we get a prego photo. Really exciting to be able to share this happy moment and know I'm not the only one. Can't wait for our babies to play with one another. She's so pretty, can't wait to see her baby boy!

Finally...today..MANIC Monday.
We did lots of errands today. Daddy went shopping and was on baby mode all day. It's been awesome and I'm so lucky to have him so involved. Makes things so much easier! With that said, if you all know Paul, he is like a kid at heart. He was reading his "Parents" magazine and happened to find the article "The Scoop on Poop." Laughing in bed, he reads me the article and explaining all the visual differences in baby poop. HAHA! So with that said, he asked me blog this to show you all, the "good" poop and the "bad" poop. He feels like he's a scholar now in poop, so I'm sure if you mention this, he will have a lot to say! So adorable! Gosh love him to pieces!!

16 weeks was fun! Great laughs and joys! Can't wait for more to come.
Baby Peanut, I love you so so much. I can't wait to hold you and spoil you to pieces.

Easter Bunny Fun
I really had a fun time, and miss Kaiden already. Can't wait for Baby Peanut to arrive so he/she can play with all the nieces and nephew. So far things are good. Tiredness is better. Baby nursery is starting in order. I got some ideas and layouts in order. Been showing Paul my ideas and all he does is nod. haha so easy! In 2 weeks, we get our first ultrasound, and I hope to find out so I can begin my shopping bonanza. Sleeping is getting better at night. I wonder what Baby is thinking right now. They say in books that the baby can hear our voices. Every morning, Paul says good morning to me and Baby. It's so sweet. He's gonna be a great daddy.
Happy Monday!!
Baby Peanut, they say I will feel flutters soon, can you make it happen soon??? xoxo Mommy

Photos of 14 weeks
Some of my Kodak moments for Baby's 14 week.
A big thank you to Auntie Michelle for the surprise gift!
A big thank you to Auntie Thy for some yum yum in my tum tum.
And a big thank you to Papa for helping us make our baby nursery come true.
Baby orange ....
14 weeks and 6 days today. You're the size of an orange!! Sorry so late this week. It's been extremely busy. Baby you prob felt the whole week. Mommy was working and running like I was in a marathon. Doctor said if I feel good keep doing what I'm doing. I kinda wished he said "oh no take off work and stay home and shop," but in my dreams right??
So many things going on. This week Paul and I started to do some construction to the baby's room. Moved daddy's office to a different room. Clean out the closet and start with an empty canvas. Thank goodness for Pinterest! So many great ideas, but now I'm in the state of "I don't know what I want." I'm trying to be patient and just wait to find out your gender, but as you get older Baby, you'll know Mommy is a HUGE planner.
Easter is coming up this weekend. I can't wait to give you an egg hunt one day. I remember when I was a kid, my cousins and family would do huge Easter baskets. So much fun being a kid.
Paul and I started parenting classes. It's funny, he actually signed us up for it. It was really comforting to be in a room of new parents all eager and nervous. Everyone was about a few weeks before/after us. Quite exciting because the group was so supportive and open arms. Part of the reason why I love Kentucky. Southern sweetness. We have 6 weeks of classes and then onto the next courses. Thank you to our dear friend Laurie for helping us.
So... UK won the championship!!! I won the poll bracket in the family. Haha!! I even made egg rolls last night, which I hope you enjoyed. It wasn't bad for my first time! Papa was so sweet. He fried them and cut up mangos for you. He even fed Bentley some food. I can definitely see he's so happy.
So many happy moments in the making. As my belly grows, my excitement is more intense and my love for you, Baby, makes me so happy. I went to visit my mom yesterday and decorated her grave with all Easter. Very cute. She probably hates the eggs, but she knows I've always been a festive child.
Happy last 14 weeks... Onto 15 soon!
Mommy loves you forever!
